BERLIN – Werder Bremen’s coach Ole Werner has said that his team will do everything to keep top scorer Niclas Füllkrug and forward Marvin Ducksch in the squad.
“We hope that both stay because they are extremely important. We will do everything to keep them here,” Werner told the media.
Both forwards have built on the previous promotion season, scoring a combined 28 goals in the Bundesliga this season.
“Both are very ambitious and have high quality football,” Werner said.
In their first season following a promotion from the second division, Bremen finished 13th in the standings. A goal for the upcoming season, however, is not yet set.
“That’s a question that can be answered when you know how the league is put together and how the competition has set itself up,” Werner said.
