Lagos Slates Environmental Sanitation for Saturday, Restricts Movement

July 25, 2014 – The Lagos State Government has slated the July environmental sanitation for Saturday, July 26, 2014.

The state government said the exercise will take place between the hours of 7 and 10AM, adding that during this period movement will be restricted.

Speaking on the development, Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Tunji Bello urged residents of the state to use the period to come out and clean their environment, adding that a clean environment contributes to good health.

He warned commercial bus operators and other commuters to stay away from the roads, adding that the ministry has mobilized relevant security agents like the Nigerian Police Force, (NPF), the Lagos State Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) brigade, officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), and others to the road to ensure that residents comply with restriction order.

He said that waste disposal trucks will be around to cart away invalids and warned against patronage of cart pushers.
