    Coronavirus: US reports 3620 deaths in 24 hours as Nigeria list 1588 new cases

    IKEJA, Lagos – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 1588 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 139,242. But out of the 139,242 confirmed cases , 112,557 patients have been treated and  discharged, while  1,647  others could not make it alive. Nigeria is now left with 25, 038 active cases. Six Coronavirus patients died in the country in the last 24 hours.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-535, Anambra-218, Oyo-155, FCT-150, Kano-124, Gombe-60, Kaduna-49, Ebonyi-48, Plateau 46, Akwa Ibom-39, Niger-37, Edo-33, Katsina-23, Rivers-18, Taraba-15, Nasarawa-14, Ogun-11, Delta-9, Ekiti-2 and Jigawa-2, making a total of 1588 new cases of Coronavirus.

    NCDC@NCDC gov 1,588 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-535, Anambra-218, Oyo-155, FCT-150, Kano-124, Gombe-60, Kaduna-49, Ebonyi-48, Plateau 46, Akwa Ibom-39, Niger-37, Edo-33, Katsina-23, Rivers-18, Taraba-15, Nasarawa-14, Ogun-11, Delta-9, Ekiti-2 and Jigawa-2 139,242 confirmed 112,557 discharged 1,647 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now 105, 680, 092 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 306,247 patients have kicked the bucket, while 58, 779,324 others have been treated and discharged. The world is now left with 44, 594, 521 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University(JHU), Maryland.

    JHU reported that the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 26, 892, 481 confirmed cases, 461, 725 patients have been killed by the virus(126, 081 new and 3620 deaths*), followed by India, which  has documented 10,814,304  confirmed cases, 154, 918 deaths, while 10, 510, 796 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving India with 148, 590 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 713 new and 95 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported  9, 447, 165  confirmed cases, 230,034 patients are no more, while 8, 426,964 others  have recovered, leaving Brazil with 790,167 active cases of Coronavirus(50, 872 new and 1239 deaths*) .

    The United Kingdom has displaced Russia as the 4th country most hit by the pandemic, reporting 3, 941, 243 cases, 112,305  deaths , while 10,157 patients have recovered, leaving the UK with 3, 818,781 Coronavirus patient(18, 333 new and 828 deaths*) and Russia which has reported 3, 907, 653 confirmations, 75,010 patients have passed on while 3, 398,545 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the Russia with 434, 098 active cases of Coronavirus(16,379 new and 490 deaths*)  and France, which has documented 3, 376, 266  confirmed cases, 78, 940 patients have died from the virus, while 238, 899 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving France with 3, 058, 427 active cases of Coronavirus(20, 608 new and 191 deaths*).

    Spain has come up as the 7th country most affected by Coronavirus, reporting 2, 941,990 all time cases, 61, 386 deaths and 150, 376 recoveries, leaving Spain with 2, 730, 228  active cases of Coronavirus, followed by Italy with 2, 625,098 confirmed cases, 91, 003 patients have passed on while 2, 107,061 others have  recovered, leaving Italy with 427, 034 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 439 new and 385 deaths*) and Turkey which has confirmed 2, 524, 786  cases,  26, 685 others are no more, while 2, 412, 505 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Turkey with 85, 596 active cases of Coronavirus(7897 new and 108 deaths*).

    Germany remains the 10th country worst hit by the virus, reporting 2, 285, 003 all time cases, 61, 389 patients have been killed by the virus, while 2, 035,324 others have recovered, leaving Germany with 188,290 active cases of Coronavirus(8641 new and 546 deaths) and South Africa, now 15th country worst hit, reporting 1, 473, 700 confirmed cases, 46, 180 patients are no more, while 1, 340,497 others have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with 87,023  active cases of Coronavirus(3184 mew and 278 deaths*).
