The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has set up a seven man disciplinary committee as part of effort to ensure that that there is discipline within the party. A statement issued by acting Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Tony Okeke said the former Minister of Transport, Alhaji Umaru Dikkohas been appointed as chairman of the committee. He said the committee was set up in pursuant of articles 57 (1), (2), (3) of the constitution of the PDP. The Lagos State Government has donated an ambulance equipped with intensive care unit comprising defibrillator, ECG machine and ventilator worth several millions of Naira to the Military Hospital, Ikoyi as part of efforts to enhance operation of the hospital. A Port Harcourt High Court presided over by Hon Justice Adolphus Enebeli has ruled that the police has a constitutional right to arrest, investigate and prosecute the purportedly impeached Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly Hon Otelema Amachree in connection with any crime he commits in the discharge of his duty.
