    Nigeria reports 80 new cases as Coronavirus kills 3459 in Brazil

    LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 80 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases to 164,080.

     But out of the 164,080 confirmed cases, 154,285 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2,061 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7734 active cases of Coronavirus.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-29, Rivers-19, Zamfara-6, Akwa Ibom-4, Edo-4, Osun-4, Plateau-4, Ogun-3, Kano-3, Nasarawa-2, FCT-1 and Oyo-1, making a total of 80 new cases of Coronavirus.

    “NCDC@NCDC gov80 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-29, Rivers-19, Zamfara-6, Akwa Ibom-4, Edo-4, Osun-4, Plateau-4, Ogun-3, Kano-3, Nasarawa-2, FCT-1 and Oyo-1;  164,080 confirmed; 154,285 discharged; 2,061 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now 138, 662, 915 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide,  2, 978,697  patients have kicked the bucket while 78, 987, 281 others  have been able to survive the pandemic.

    There are now 56, 697, 353 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States of America remains  the most afflicted country worldwide, reporting 31, 477, 366  all time cases and 565, 067 deaths(65, 135 new and 792 deaths*), followed by India which has reported  14, 074, 564  confirmations,   173, 123 patients have lost their lives, while 12, 429,  564 others have been treated and discharged, leaving India with 1, 471, 877 active cases of Coronavirus(200, 739 new and 1038 deaths*) and Brazil which has registered 13, 673, 507 all time cases,   361, 884 patients are already dead, while  12, 076,  595 others  have recovered, leaving Brazil with 1, 235,  028   active cases of Coronavirus(73, 513 new and 3459 deaths*).

    France has come up as the 4th country most hit by the pandemic, reporting 5, 248, 853   all time cases, 100, 232 patients are no more, while 323,865 others have survived, leaving France with 4, 824,  756  active cases of Coronavirus(38,083 new and 296 deaths*), followed by Russia which has documented 4, 622, 464  all time infections,  102, 667 patients are no more, while 4, 252, 526 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Russia with 267, 271 active cases of Coronavirus(8,880 new and 392 deaths*) and United Kingdom which has reported   4, 396, 008 confirmed cases, 127, 437 deaths and 13, 764 recoveries, leaving the UK with 4, 254, 807 active cases of Coronavirus(2680 new and 30 deaths*).

    Turkey has come up as the 7th country  worst hit by the pandemic,  reporting  4, 086,957 all time cases,  35, 031 patients have passed on, while 3,535, 040 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Turkey with 516, 886 active cases of Coronavirus(61, 400 new and 297 deaths*) , followed by Italy, which has documented 3, 826, 156 confirmed cases, 115, 937 lives have been lost, while  3, 200, 196 others have  been treated and discharged, leaving Italy with 510, 023 active cases of Coronavirus(16, 963 new and 380 deaths*) and Spain which has registered 3, 396, 685  all time cases,  76,882 patients have passed on while  150, 376 others  have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Spain with 3, 169, 427  active cases of Coronavirus(9663 new and 126 deaths*).

    Germany remains the 10th country worst hit, reporting 3, 094, 996 cases of Coronavirus ,  79, 520 patients have been killed, while 2, 747, 460 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Germany with 268, 016 active cases of the pandemic(27, 324 new and 286 deaths*) and South Africa with 1, 561, 559 all time cases,  53, 498 patients are no more, while 1, 486, 873 others have survived the pandemic, leaving South Africa with 21, 188 active cases of Coronavirus.
