    Coronavirus kills 1770 in the US and 3 in Nigeria in 24 hours

    IKEJA, Lagos – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 346 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 159,252.  But out of the 159,252 confirmed cases, 139,056 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1,988 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 18, 208 active cases of Coronavirus, while 6 patients died in the last 24  hours.

     Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-86, Bauchi-64, Kaduna-26, Kwara-26, FCT-24, Rivers-23, Plateau-22, Ogun-16, Ebonyi-14, Bayelsa-12, Cross River-10, Edo-8, Akwa Ibom-5, Ekiti-3, Gombe-2, Kano-2, Osun-2  and Delta-1, making 346 new cases of Coronavirus in the country.

    “NCDC@NCDC gov 346 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-86, Bauchi-64, Kaduna-26, Kwara-26, FCT-24, Rivers-23, Plateau-22, Ogun-16, Ebonyi-14, Bayelsa-12, Cross River-10, Edo-8, Akwa Ibom-5, Ekiti-3, Gombe-2, Kano-2, Osun-2  and Delta-1 ;159,252 confirmed ;139,056 discharged; 1,988 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

     There now 117, 409,594 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 607, 837 lives have been lost to the pandemic, while 66,525,325 others have been treated and discharged. The world is now left with 48, 276, 432 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest updates from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting  29, 081,612 registered cases, while 527, 389 others have passed on(48, 243 new and 1770 deaths*), followed by India which has documented 11, 244,786 all time cases,  157, 930 patients are no more, while 10, 899, 394 others have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving India with 187, 462 active cases of Coronavirus(15, 388 new and 77 deaths*) and Brazil which has registered 11, 051, 665 all time cases,  266, 398  patients have passed on while  9, 849, 190 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Brazil with 936, 077 active cases of Coronavirus(32, 321 new and 987 deaths*).

    Russia remains the 4th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 4, 293, 750  all time cases,  88, 315 deaths and 3, 888, 071  recoveries, leaving Russia with 317, 364 active cases of the pandemic(9342 new and 330 deaths*), followed by the United Kingdom now reporting 4, 241,848 confirmed cases,  125, 032 patients have passed on while 11, 855 others are now hale and hearty, leaving the UK with 4, 104, 961 active cases in the UK(5969 new and 231 deaths*) and France now reporting 3, 992, 742 confirmations, 89, 455 patients are already dead, while 274, 331 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving France with 3, 628, 956 active cases of Coronavirus(23, 156 new and 366 deaths*).

    Spain has remained as the 7th country worst hit by the pandemic reporting 3, 164,982 confirmed cases,  71, 727 lives have been lost, while 150, 376 others have recovered, leaving Spain with 2,942, 879 current cases of Coronavirus(4012 new and 291 deaths*), followed by Italy which has reported 3, 101, 093  confirmations,  100, 479 patients have been killed by the virus, while  2, 521,731 others have recovered, leaving  Italy with 478, 883 active cases of Coronavirus(19, 725 new and 376 deaths*) and Turkey now reporting  2, 807, 387 all time infections, 29, 160 lives have been wasted by the virus, while 2, 640, 669 others survived till date, leaving Turkey with 137, 558 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 755 new and 66 deaths*)

    Germany is still the 10th country worst hit by the pandemic, with 2, 520,609 all time infections,  72, 347 patients are no more, while 2, 323, 830 others have been  treated and discharged, leaving Germany with 124, 432 active cases of Coronavirus(6841 new and 299 deaths*) and South Africa(16) country most hit by the pandemic with 1, 522, 697 confirmations, 50, 906 deaths and 1, 444,282  recoveries, leaving South Africa with 27, 509 active cases of Coronavirus(1629 new and 103 deaths*).
