LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC) has confirmed 70 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic in the country, bringing all time cases to 164,303. But out of the 164,303 confirmed cases,  154,384 patients have been treated and  discharged,  while 2,061 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7858 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-27, Kaduna-16, Ondo-16, Yobe-6 and Bauchi-5, making a total of 70 new cases of Coronavirus.

“NCDC@NCDCgov 70 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-27, Kaduna-16, Ondo-16, Yobe-6 and Bauchi-5 ; 164,303 confirmed ;154,384 discharged ;2,061 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

There are now 141, 716, 848 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 3, 024, 529  patients have lost their lives to the pandemic, while 81, 019, 617 others have been treated and discharged.  The world is now left with   57, 672, 697 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 31, 727,  833 confirmed cases, while 567, 649 lives have been taken by the Coronavirus pandemic(64, 529 new and 569 deaths*), followed by India which has documented 15, 061, 919  confirmed cases, 178, 769 deaths and 12, 953, 821 recoveries, leaving India with   1, 929, 329  active cases of Coronavirus(273, 810 new and 1619 deaths*) and  Brazil which has registered  13, 943, 071   confirmed cases, 373, 335  patients have been killed by the virus while 12, 311, 393 others have recovered, leaving  Brazil with 1, 258, 343 active cases of Coronavirus(42, 980 new and 1657 deaths*).

France has come up as the 4th country most hit, reporting  5, 357, 217 all time cases, 101, 339 patients are no more, while 328, 718 others have been treated and discharged,  leaving France with 4, 927, 160  active cases of Coronavirus(6697 new 447 deaths*), followed by Russia which has documented 4, 657, 509  all time cases, 104, 173 deaths and 4, 284, 398 recoveries, leaving Russia with 268, 938 active cases of Coronavirus(8465 new and 339 deaths*) and   the United Kingdom which has reported 4, 406,  023 confirmed cases, 127, 522 lives are already gone, while 13, 987 others  have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 264, 514 active cases of Coronavirus(2965 new and 4 deaths*).

Turkey has come up as the 7th country most afflicted by the virus, reporting 4, 323, 596  all time infections,  36, 267 patients are no more, while  3, 736, 537 others  have been given clean bill of health, leaving Turkey with 550, 792 active cases of Coronavirus(55, 149 new and 341 deaths*), followed by Italy with 3, 878, 994 confirmations,  117, 243 patients are no more, while 3, 268, 262 others have been treated and discharged, leaving  Italy with 493, 489 active cases of Coronavirus(8863 new and 316 deaths*) and Spain which has reported 3, 428, 354  all time cases, 77, 102 patients have lost their lives, while 150, 376 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Spain with 3, 200, 876 active cases of Coronavirus(21,071 new and 121 deaths*).

Germany has come up as the 10th country most hit, reporting 3, 161, 645 confirmed cases, 80, 153 patients are already dead, while 2, 797, 760  others have recovered, leaving Germany with  283, 732 active cases of Coronavirus(6123 new and 174 deaths*) and South Africa which has registered 1, 567, 513  all time cases, 53, 757  deaths and 1, 490, 876 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 22, 880  active cases of Coronavirus(1833 new and 21 deaths*).
