    Coronavirus: Nigeria reports 637 cases; over 5 billion people vaccinated globally

    LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has reported  637 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 188, 880. But out of the 188, 880 confirmed cases,  169, 382 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 288 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 17, 210 active cases while 7 patients died in the last 24 hours.

    NCDC: 637 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos – 322, Rivers – 70,  Edo – 54, Delta – 34,  Akwa  Ibom – 31, Kwara – 31, FCT – 29,  Ekiti – 17,  Ogun – 14,  Osun – 10, Kebbi – 8, Cross River – 5,  Plateau –  3, Taraba – 3,  Kaduna – 2,  Bayelsa-2, Benue – 1, Enugu – 1, Kano- 1: 188, 880 confirmed;  169, 382 discharged, 2, 288 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.  

    There are now 214, 445, 707  confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4, 471, 035  patients have passed on while  5, 077, 385, 659  doses of Coronavirus pandemic have been administered worldwide based on the latest  statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering,  Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting  38, 360, 873 confirmed cases, while 633, 402 patients have passed on, followed by India with 32, 558, 530 all time infections, while 436,365  patients are no more, and Brazil which has reported 20, 645, 537 all time infections and 576, 645 patients have died.

    France remains the 4th country most hit, reporting 6, 777, 466 all time infections and 114,251  deaths, followed by Russia with 6, 728, 699  confirmed cases, while 176, 127 patients have passed on and the United Kingdom, which has documented  6,659, 788 cases, while 132,463 patients have kicked the bucket.

    Turkey is the 7th country most hit, reporting 6, 293, 267 all time cases, while 55, 469  lives have been wasted, followed by Argentina which has documented 5, 155,079 all time cases, while 110, 966 patients have  died and Colombia which has documented 4, 897, 150 all time infections, while 124, 474 patients have passed on.

    Spain remains the 10th country most hit, reporting 4, 822, 320 all time cases, while 83, 861 patients have passed on and South Africa, which has documented 2, 734, 973 all time cases, while 80, 826 patients are no more.
