    Coronavirus: 410 new cases in Nigeria, 55,079 in India, 49,085 in the US, see others

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 410 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number to 49, 895.

    But out of the 49, 895 confirmed cases, 37, 051 patients have been given clean bill of health, while 981 others have passed on, leaving Nigeria with  11, 863 patients in the hospital.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-210, Abuja-45, Ondo-30, Plateau-21, Edo-19, Ogun-16, Oyo-13, Nasarawa-12, Bauchi-11, Enugu-10, Kwara-7, Kaduna-6, Anambra-4, Ebonyi-3, Abia-2 and Rivers-1, making a total of 410 new cases.

    “NCDC@NCDC 410 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-210, FCT-45, Ondo-30, Plateau-21, Edo-19, Ogun-16, Oyo-13, Nasarawa-12, Bauchi-11, Enugu-10, Kwara-7, Kaduna-6, Anambra-4, Ebonyi-3, Abia-2, Rivers-1; 49,895 confirmed; 37,051 discharged; 981 death”, the NCDC said in a statement.

    Globally, there are currently 21, 982,155 confirmed cases since the first cases was recorded, 776, 765 all time deaths, while 13, 943, 312 others have recovered based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country globally, reporting 5, 474,  630  all time cases, 171, 636 accumulated deaths, while 1, 865,  580 patients have been discharged, leaving the US with 3, 437, 415 people  receiving treatment in the hospital(49, 085 new cases).

    Brazil is next with 3, 359,  570 all time cases, 108, 536 deaths over time, while 2, 699, 080 people have  recovered, leaving Brazil with 551, 954 people on medications in the hospitals(19, 373 new cases), followed by India with 2, 702, 742  all time cases, 51, 797 accumulated deaths, while 1, 977, 779 people  have been discharged, leaving India with 673, 166  people to take care of in the hospitals(55, 079 new cases).

    Russia has documented 930, 276 confirmed cases, 15, 836 deaths since the first case of Coronavirus was reported in Russia,  while 741, 045 people have been able to recover from the pandemic, leaving Russia with 173, 395 people in the various hospitals, followed by South Africa(5) in the ranks of most affected countries.

    South Africa has reported  592, 144 all time cases of the pandemic,  12, 264 deaths since the first case of Coronavirus was reported, while  485, 468 patients have been discharged,  leaving South Africa with 94, 412 people undergoing treatment in the hospital(2, 258 new cases).

    Peru is next in the 6th spot with 541, 493 all time cases of Coronavirus,  26, 481 deaths over time, while 370, 717 patients have been declared fine by authorities, leaving Peru with 144, 295 patients still being treated for the Coronavirus pandemic, followed by  Mexico  with 525, 733  all time cases of the pandemic, 57, 023  deaths over time while 430, 840 people on treatment have been discharged, leaving Mexico with 37, 870 people in the hospitals and isolation centres.

    Colombia(8) is next with 476, 660  all time cases of Coronavirus, 15, 372 deaths over time,  while 301, 525 patients in the hospital have recovered, leaving Colombia with 159, 763  patients to cater for, followed by Chile(9) with 388, 855 cases of Coronavirus till date, 10, 546 accumulated deaths, while 362, 440 patients have been able to recover, leaving Chile with  15, 869 patients on treatment for Coronavirus, followed by  Spain in the 10th spot in the rank of most affected country.

    Spain has documented 364, 196 cases of the pandemic from the outset,  28, 670 deaths over time, while 150, 376  patients have recovered, leaving Spain with 185, 150 patients undergoing treatment in the hospital(5, 114 new cases).

    Iran(12) is next  with 347, 835 all time cases of Coronavirus, 19, 972 deaths over time, while 300, 881 patients  have been discharged, leaving Iran with 26, 982 patients on treatment, followed by the United Kingdom, which has documented  322, 160 all time cases, 41, 466 deaths over time, while only 1, 492 patients have been able to recover since the first case of Coronavirus was recorded, leaving the U.K with 279, 202 patients in the various hospitals undergoing treatment(1, 813 new cases), followed by France(18) with  256, 534 all time cases of the pandemic, 30, 434 deaths over time, while 84, 214 other patients have recovered, leaving France with 141, 886 patients in the hospitals(61 new cases), followed by Italy(19) with 254, 636 documented cases of Coronavirus since the outset,  35, 405 deaths accumulated over time, while 204, 142 others have been discharged, leaving Italy with 15, 089 patients to cater for(401 new cases) and then China which has been pushed to 33rd spot in the rank of most affected countries.

    China has documented 89, 477 all time cases of Coronavirus,   4, 704 deaths over time while 83, 390 patients have been discharged, leaving China with 1, 383 patients to treat for #Coronavirus.
