    COOUTH to partner Anambra NYSC on medical treatments

    ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – Chief Medical Director (CMD), Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH)  Amaku- Awka,  Anambra state,  Dr. Joe Akabuike has assured of prompt and adequate treatment  of all  corps members brought to the hospital.

    Akabuike gave the assurance today during a courtesy visit on him by the Anambra State  NYSC  Coordinator, Mrs.  Yetunde Baderinwa and her team  at his office. He said that the Teaching Hospital will improve on the already existing cordial relationship through rendering of prompt and adequate treatment  even before payment.

    Akabuike further said that the hospital is poise to collaborate  with the scheme  for  a better and more rewarding partnerships.

    “We are   prepared to partner the scheme in the state in the quarterly Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers HIRD and also to sensitize corps members on issues bordering on health at the orientation camp” he said .

    Earlier in her speech, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa said that the essence of the visit, besides familiarizing with the CMD was to solicit the treatment of corps members, who are on National Health Insurance Scheme  NHIS, pending the time of the payment.

    She expressed gratitude to the CMD and his team for the cooperation with the scheme in the time of her predecessors and requested that similar cordial relationship be extended to her and the scheme.

    Those on a team of the Coordinator were Mrs. Anuli Molokwu, Head Press and Public Relations, Mrs. Okeke- Ekpe  Ngozi, Head, Corps Discipline and Reward, Mrs Kwazu Ethel, Head, Corps Welfare and Health Services and Mr Ezeobia Onyekachi LGI Awka South.
