The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cautioned leaders of two opposition parties, the Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Action Congress of Nigeria, (ACN) and the Gen. Muhammadu Buhari-led Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), against parading themselves as saints, stressing that Nigerians cannot be fooled since they already know their dictatorial antecedents.

Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Tony Okeke said that Buhari and Tinubu lacked the moral justification to pontificate on democracy since all their actions are dictatorial.

The party was alarmed that the CPC leader opted to castigate former publicity secretary of the CPC, Mr. Yinka Odumakin for exposing alleged atrocities of the leaders, adding that both men are bitter since they know that they will lose the 2015 general elections despite the merger,  since it is s built on deceit.

“Buhari has refused to change his dictatorial tendencies. He has continued to impose himself as leader of any political party where he finds himself and uses his despotic power to handpick candidates for elections. In 2003, he forced John Nwodo Jnr., and other presidential candidates in the then APP to step down for himself leading to the famous ‘I weep for Nigeria’ statement by Nwodo. In 2003, Buhari imposed himself and failed. If he imposed himself and his lackey Tinubu or  his wife, Senator  Oluremi Tinubu as his running mate, he will fail”, the statement said.

The party called on Tinubu to learn to be a democratic before pouring vituperations on the PDP on matters internal to the party, adding that the ACN  leader has been going around portraying himself as hero of Nigeria’s democracy, even when Nigerians are too aware of his dictatorship in ACN, through which he allegedly siphon funds.

He explained that Nigerians have not forgotten how Tinubu imposed his daughter, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, who is not a full time trader to replace his mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji as President General of Nigerian Market Men and Women.

He added that it is in public domain that Tinubu recently tried to bar, a member of the House of Representatives, Opeyemi Bamidele from contesting the Governorship election in Ekiti State, adding that Buhari and Tinubu are united in dictatorship, and that the pursuit of the merger by the two leaders was nothing but to satisfy their desperation for power for selfish gains.

The PDP called on those seeking nomination under the emerging APC to wake up before it is too late, since it will be impossible for them to realise their dreams and called on Nigerians to be wary of the antecedents of these politicians and their cronies, stressing that any government presided over by the two will be characterised by dictatorship, corruption and abuse of power.
