Bolaji Tunji, Editor National Mirror resigns
Editor of National Mirror, Mr. Bolaji Tunji has resigned. He resigned last Friday just few months after he was promoted to that position, following demotion of Seyi Fasuba to Sunday Editor.

We gathered that his resignation threw the Publisher of the paper, Jimoh Ibrahim off balance and he immediately intensified efforts to fill the vacuum. We gathered that he called on the Political Editor, Mr. Ayodele Ojo to take up the position, but he turned down the offer only to tender his resignation letter.

Sources told our correspondent that Jimoh was left with no option but to call on the former Editor, Mr. Seyi Fasuba who was demoted to Sunday Editor on his return from China to take the position for travelling without his permission.

The saga surrounding his trip to China and subsequent demotion was also one of the reasons that warranted the resignation of Managing Director of National Mirror, Mr. Steve Ayorinde two months ago besides the stripping of Editor-in-chief from the title of MD.

The resignation of Tunji and Ojo are said to be the beginning of massive resignation fever that would soon hit National Mirror and its sister paper, Daily Newswatch unless Jimoh Ibrahim moves very fast to tackle some of the issues militating effective practice of journalism in his media empire.

Tunji is moving to Telegraph as Managing Director, while Ojo is moving to the same paper as Political Editor. However seconding of Fasuba to National Mirror as Daily Editor now leaves his position as Sunday Editor vacant But it is not clear if anybody would be interested in the position unless the deputy is elevated.
