The movie, Transformers: Age of Extinction broke new ground in record sales at the weekend when it returned over $301 million in worldwide sales at the box office.

However, Maleficent which is five weeks old at the big screen also made the top five even with sales as low as $8.237 million from 3,073 cinemas where it was exhibited in the US.

Think Like a Man Too which was number one last week slipped to the 4th position when sales tumbled to $10.4 million from 2, 225 viewing centres where it was exhibited in the US. Just ahead in number 3 is another old film, How to Train Your Dragon 2, which is just three weeks old at the big screen. The movie made $13.1 million from 3,750 film viewing centres in the US to hang on to the third position on the chart.

22 Jump Street, put together by Sony Pictures emerged the second best film during the week after grossing $15.4 million from 3, 426 film viewing centres in the United States alone. But Transformers: Age of Extinction which was just hitting the big screen emerged the most patronized movie in box office both in the US and in worldwide sales after grossing over $100 million from 4, 233 viewing centres in the US.

Put together by Paramount Pictures, Transformers: Age of Extinction is a big budget film, put together with the sum of $210 million but returned over $300 million in just one week in worldwide sales.
