LAGOS, Nigeria – The 2014 World Cup champion Lukas Podolski is in talks with his former club Cologne for a potential comeback, but not as a player.
“Let’s see what happens. I’m in talks with Cologne.
“A few weeks ago we had a conversation with the managing directors about what such a role could look like for me.
“Everyone knows my connection to the club and the city,” Podolski told broadcasters Sport1.
He’s currently under contract at Gornik Zabrze in Poland until June 2025.
Podolski started his professional career at Cologne in 2003 before moving to Bayern Munich in 2006. He then returned to Cologne in 2009, where he stayed for three more years.
