Omisore Emerges PDP Flag-bearer for Osun Governorship Election

Former Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation, Senator Iyiola Omisore was Saturday declared winner of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) primaries held in Osogbo, Osun State.

He will now represent the party in the August 9 governorship election in Osun State. Omisore won the primaries with a total vote of 1,128 out of 1,186 votes cast. His closest rival, Senator Olasunkanmi Akinlabi got 35 votes, Honourable Wole Oke got 5 votes while Senator Isiaka Adeleke got 0 vote.

Announcing the result, Alhaji Adamu Aliero called all aspirants to corporate with each other so as to ensure that PDP wins the governorship election coming up August 9.

In his acceptance speech, Omisore, thanked delegates and appealed to aggrieved members to forgive and forget whatever might have happened in the past.

“Let us work together and take back what was stolen from us. I am ready to work with everybody for the interest of our party.”

Earlier in his welcome address, state chairman of the party, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa said there was no need fighting one another.

“There is no winner or loser, let me admonish all aspirants to support the party’s candidate as our ultimate goal is to send Aregbesola packing and Insh Allah Aregbesola will be voted out of Osun come August 9, 2014.” The Chairman said.
