The figures dropped a little lower compared with the highest figures obtained at the US box office the previous week, but good enough for filmmakers to make some returns on investment.
Coming behind in the fifth position was 3 Days to Kill which is just two weeks at the box office. A production of Relativity Studios, the film made $4.9 million after passing through 2,872 theatres in the US to make it to number 5 on the chart.
Just ahead in the 4th position is The Monuments Men. A production of Sony Pictures, the film scooped $5 million after going through 3,002 film viewing centres in the US to hit number 4 on the chart. The Lego Movie which was number One in the last two weeks was pushed to number 3 at the box office. Put together by Warner Brothers, the film grossed $21.015 million after passing through 3,770 theatres in the US to get to that spot on the chart.
Son of God, which is a new comer at the box office rallied to the 2nd position after making $26.5 million from 3,260 cinemas where it was exhibited in the US. Son of God is a production of Sony Pictures. But the most patronized movie at the box office during the week was Non-Stop, a new film put together by Universal Pictures.
Non-Stop rewarded the filmmakers with the sum of $30.019 million after having a nice outing in 3,090 theatres in the US to hit the first position on the chart. It will interest you to know that Non-Stop was put together with the sum of $50 million yet it made $30.019 million in just one week at the box office.
