    Labour prepares for burial of Simon Maduekwe killed by APC thugs while protecting LP’s vote

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Labour Party has commenced arrangement for the burial of Simon Okwudilichukwu Maduekwe who was killed on March 18th, 2023, when armed thugs  loyal to the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC stormed his area at Bajulaye, Somolu and assaulted him, causing fatal damage to his skull.

    “He was killed in Somolu while protecting LP’s vote”, the party said.

    Maduekwe, according to the Governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Lagos was rushed to Oguntolu Medical Centre, Somolu, where he was confirmed dead.

    “Until his death, he was a staunch member of LP, who believed that a new Nigeria was possible. The labour party have come together to support his family and will continue to do so. May his fearless soul rest in perfect peace”, he said.

    The Labour Party Lagos State Chairman Pastor Dayo Ekong, with her exco have also provided financial support to his wife, and children who were left behind by the onslaught of the APC, who were spewing ethnic sentiment in Lagos

    “He was killed in Somolu while protecting LP’s votes”, the party said.

    He said the labour party have come together to support his family and will continue to do so. May his fearless soul rest in perfect peace.

    He will be buried in May  in Nnewi, Anambra State.
