- Kate Beckinsale reveals devastating agency firing while caring for dying mum and stepdad

BRITISH star Kate Beckinsale has dropped a bombshell on Hollywood, revealing she was brutally fired by her talent agent for simply “liking” a social media post calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
The Underworld actress, 52, claimed her 12-year relationship with her representative was severed in just “two sentences” after she engaged with a humanitarian post condemning the killing of children.
Making the explosive claims in a series of since-deleted comments on Instagram, the Oxford-educated star revealed her dismissal took place on the exact same day veteran actress Susan Sarandon was dropped by United Talent Agency (UTA).
A furious Beckinsale hit out at what she described as stark sexism and double standards in Tinseltown.
She pointed out that high-profile male actors represented by the same powerhouse agency — including Avengers star Mark Ruffalo — have been openly vocal about the Middle East conflict without facing career backlash.
Posting directly under a promotional video by Ruffalo for the film Palestine 36, Beckinsale wrote:
”Gosh, it must be so nice not to be fired by your Agent for liking a post about a ceasefire and not supporting the murdering of children.
”I guess having a penis in Hollywood really counts for a lot because you’ve not been fired by the same Agent that I had… but I liked a post about a ceasefire and I got fired on the same day as Susan Sarandon.”
Beckinsale added that she had reached out to Ruffalo in private months earlier to discuss the apparent double standard, but claimed he ignored her messages. She later clarified that while she holds no personal grudge against Ruffalo and supports his work, the silence highlighted “male privilege even in the good guys.”
Making matters worse, the British screen icon disclosed that the sudden firing arrived during the most painful personal crisis of her life.
At the time of her dismissal, Beckinsale was acting as a primary carer for both her mother, actress Judy Loe, who had been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, and her stepfather, director Roy Battersby, who had suffered a massive stroke while fighting two types of cancer. Both have since passed away.
”I was fired in two sentences after 12 years of friendship with my Agent… who knew what I was dealing with, alone,” she wrote.
Beckinsale, who is now aligned with New Standard Branding, is the latest high-profile figure to speak out on the fallout within the entertainment industry over public statements surrounding the Israel-Gaza conflict.
