Some of the military uniforms ceased by Nigeria Customs Service in Rivers

PORT HARCOURT, Rivers State, Nigeria – The Nigeria Custom Service has intercepted a container load of military uniforms at the Onne Port, in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State. The seizure is coming barely a month after the customs service ceased a container loaded with military uniforms at the same port.




Assistant Controller-General of Customs, South South and South East Zone, Sanusi Umar, disclosed while displaying the ceased military uniforms to Journalists at the Onne Port, on Thursday. He said the seizure was made possible following ongoing investigations into the supplier and supposed receiver of the military uniforms that were ceased by the service last month.

On July 31, We briefed the press on the seizure of a container with over 4, 400 camouflage military uniforms and shoes. We profiled the transactions of the company that was involved in the importation.”

Umar stressed: “And I want to inform you that we have arrested a 40-foot container loaded with military uniforms illegally imported into the country by the same company that imported the container of military camouflage that was ceased by the service a month ago.”
