    Coronavirus kills 1605 patients overnight in Brazil, active cases now 2138 in Nigeria

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 46 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to  168, 915. But out of the 168, 915 confirmed cases, 164, 652 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 125 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 2138 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic.

    “NCDC: 48 new confirmed cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Ondo- 14, Oyo-10, Gombe- 6, FCT – 5, Ogun – 4,  Delta – 3, Ekiti – 3, Rivers – 3: 168, 915 confirmed; 164,652 discharged; 2, 125 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now 188, 219, 959  confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4, 053, 713  patients  have been killed by the pandemic, while 3,495, 163, 573 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered globally based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 33,936, 945  confirmed cases, while 608, 013 patients have kicked the bucket(33, 728 new cases and 368 deaths*), followed by India which has reported 30, 946, 074  all time cases, while 411, 408  patients have been killed(38, 792 new cases and 624 deaths*)  and Brazil which has reported  19, 151, 993 all time cases, while 535,838 patients have passed on(45, 022 new cases and 1605 deaths*).

    France has come up as the 4th country most hit, reporting 5, 884, 395 cases of Coronavirus pandemic, while 111, 609 patients have been killed by the virus(1458 new cases and 12 deaths*), followed by Russia which has documented  5, 785, 542 all time infections while 142,877 patients have passed on(23, 331 new cases and 775 deaths*)  and Turkey, which has reported 5, 500, 151  confirmed cases, while 50, 367  patients have been killed by virus(6907 new cases and 43 deaths*).

    The United Kingdom remains the 7th country worst hit, reporting 5, 252, 390 infections, while 128, 797 lives have perished(42, 635 new  cases and 50 deaths*), followed by Argentina, which has registered 4, 682, 960  all time cases and 99, 640 deaths(20, 023 new cases and 385 deaths*) and Colombia which has reported  4, 548, 142  total infections, while 113,839 patients have kicked the bucket(17, 532 new cases and 504 deaths*).

    Italy has come up as the 10th country most hit, reporting  4, 275, 846 all time cases, while 127, 831 lives have been lost to the pandemic(2153 new cases and 23 deaths*) and South Africa which has reported  2, 236, 805  confirmed cases, while 65, 595 patients have given up the ghost(17, 489 new cases and 453 deaths*).
