    Coronavirus in Nigeria: 416 new, 299 dead, see top 5 nations

    LAGOS, Nigeria –  The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 416 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number in the country to 10, 578 cases.

    Out of the 10, 578 cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, 3,122 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, while 299 others have died.

    However, a breakdown of the 416 new cases shows that 192 new cases were found in Lagos, 41 in Edo, 33 in Rivers, 30 in Kaduna, 23 in Kwara, 18 in Nasarawa, 17 in Borno, 14 in Abuja, 10 in Oyo, 7 in Katsina, 5 in Abia, 5 in Delta, 4 in Adamawa, 4 in Kano, 3 in Imo,3 in Ondo, 2 in Benue, 2 in Bauchi, 2 in Ogun and 1 in Niger”, the NCDC has said of new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

    Globally there are currently 6, 264, 742 confirmed cases, while 375, 513 have passed on based on statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States still leads among the most affected nations in the world, reporting 1, 811, 172 confirmed cases of Coronavirus while 105, 167 have died, followed by Brazil, which has reported 526, 447 confirmed cases with 29, 937 deaths.

    Next is Russia, the most affected country in Europe. Russia currently has 414, 328 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 4, 849 patients have kicked the bucket, followed by United Kingdom, which has suffered the highest number of deaths in Europe.

    The UK has reported 277, 736 confirmed cases, with 39, 127 deaths, followed by Spain with 239, 638 confirmed cases with 27, 127 deaths trailed by Italy, which currently has 233, 197 confirmed cases with 33, 475 deaths and then China where the pandemic started.

    China currently has 84, 150 confirmed cases, 4,638 deaths, while 79, 396 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving China with 116 cases, up by about 5 new cases.
