    Coronavirus in Nigeria: 350 new, as infection pass 6.6 million globally

    Cases in China drop to  113

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 350 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 11, 516 cases.

    Out of the total 11, 516 cases, 3535 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged while 323 others could not make it alive.

    However, a breakdown of the 350 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria revealed that 102 cases were discovered in Lagos,  34 in Ogun, 29 in Abuja, 26 in Borno, 23 in Kaduna, 21 in Rivers, 17 in Ebonyi, 16 in Kwara, 14 in Katsina, 14 in Edo, 10 in Delta, 10 in Kano, 10 in Bauchi, 9 in Bayelsa, 8 in Imo, 4 in Plateau, 3 in Ondo, 2 in Nasarawa, 1 in Gombe, 1 in Oyo, the NCDC said of new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

    Globally, there are 6, 600, 692 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 389, 620 patients have passed on based on statistics released by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States still leads among the most affected countries in terms of population affected and the total number of deaths.

    The United States currently has 1, 872, 528 confirmed cases of the pandemic while 108, 208 others could not make it alive, followed by Brazil, which has reported 584,016 confirmed cases, while 32, 548 others have passed on.

    Next is Russia, which is actually the most affected country in Europe in  terms population affected. Russia currently has 440, 538 confirmed cases with 5,376 deaths, followed by United Kingdom, which has suffered the highest number of deaths in Europe.

    The United Kingdom has reported 283,079 confirmed cases with 39, 987 deaths, followed by Spain, with 240, 660 confirmed cases of the pandemic with 27, 133 deaths, followed by Italy, which has reported 234, 013 confirmed cases with 33, 689 deaths.

    China where the pandemic started has been pushed to the 18th position in the rank of most affected countries globally, reporting 84, 166 confirmed cases, 4, 638 deaths, while 79, 415 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving China with 113 cases.
