    LAGOS, Nigeria -The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 566 new cases of the Coronavirus pandemic, making a total of 25, 133 cases in Nigeria.

    But out of the 25,133 cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria,  9, 402 patients have recovered and therefore discharged, while 573 others could not make it alive.

    A breakdown of the 566 new cases  in the country showed that 166 new cases were found in Lagos, 66 in Oyo, 53 in Delta, 43 in Ebonyi, 34 in Plateau, 32 in Ondo, 26 in Abuja, 25 in Ogun,  24 in Edo,  15 in Imo,  13 in Bayelsa, 12 in Benue, 11 in Gombe, 11 in Kano, 11 in Kaduna, 8 in Osun, 7 in Nasarawa, 5 in Borno, 2 in Katsina and 2 in Anambra, the NCDC said of new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

    “NCDC@NCDCgov 566 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-166, Oyo-66,  Delta-53,  Ebonyi-43, Plateau-34,  Ondo 32,  FCT-26, Ogun-25, Edo-24, Imo-15, Bayelsa-13, Benue-12,Gombe-11, Kano-11, Kaduna-11, Osun-8, Nasarawa-7, Borno-5, Katsina-2, Anambra-2; 25,133 confirmed; 9,402 discharged; 573 deaths”, the NCDC said in a statement.

    Globally, there are now 10, 199, 798 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while 502, 947 patients have been killed by the pandemic based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland,

    According to the centre, the United States still remains in the lead among nations most affected by the pandemic, reporting 2, 564, 163 confirmed cases, while 125, 928 patients have died; 24, 619 new cases and  165 deaths in the last 24 hours, followed by Brazil which has documented 1, 344,143 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 57, 622 deaths – 30, 476 new cases and 552 deaths in the last 24 hours.

    Russia still remains the  most affected country in Europe, reporting 640, 246 confirmed cases, while 9, 152 patients have died from the pandemic, followed by India with 548, 318 confirmed cases, while 16, 475 patients have passed on; 19,459 new cases and 380 deaths in the last 24 hours.

    United Kingdom, the second most affected country in Europe has documented 313, 467 confirmed cases with 43, 659 deaths – 827 new cases and 25 deaths in the last 24 hours, followed by Peru, which has reported 279, 419 confirmed cases, while 9, 317 patients have died, followed by Chile, which has documented 271,982 confirmed cases, while 5, 509 patients have died.

    Spain is next with 248,970 confirmed cases with 28, 346 deaths, followed by Italy, which has reported 240, 436 confirmed cases, while 34, 744 patients have passed on and then China, where the pandemic was first reported.

    China now has 84, 757 confirmed cases, 4, 641 deaths, while 79,610 patients have recovered, leaving China with 506 cases, up by 3 new cases but no death in the last 24 hours.
