    Coronavirus in Nigeria: 189 new cases and 7, 619 active as India reports 93, 337 cases in 1 day

    NEW CASES OF CORONAVIRUS

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 189 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases in  country to 57,145.

    But out of the 57,145 confirmed cases,  48,431  patients have been discharged, while 1,095  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7, 619 active cases of Coronavirus.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-70, Plateau-37,  Abuja-24,  Kaduna-19, Rivers-12, Oyo-5, Ogun-4, Ebonyi-3, Katsina-3, Ondo-3, Osun-3, Imo-2, Yobe-2, Ekiti-1 and Nasarawa-1, making the 189 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

    “NCDC@NCDCgov 189 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-70, Plateau-37,  FCT-24,  Kaduna-19, Rivers-12, Oyo-5, Ogun-4, Ebonyi-3, Katsina-3, Ondo-3, Osun-3, Imo-2, Yobe-2, Ekiti-1 and Nasarawa-1; 57,145 confirmed 48,431 discharged 1,095 deaths”, the NCDC said in a statement.

    With over 30 million cases confirmed, it appears the world still has a long way to go when it comes to effacing the Coronavirus pandemic. Currently, there are 30,609, 907 all time cases, 953, 820 patients are already dead, while 20,836,812  others have  survived the pandemic, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, said in its latest statistics.

    According to the centre, the United States continues to lead nations worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 6, 756, 781 all time cases,  199, 082 patients already dead, while 2, 556, 465 others have survived, leaving the United States with 4, 001, 234 active cases of the virus(43, 602 cases in the last 24 hours), followed by India which has documented 5, 308, 014   cases over time, 85, 619 patients are already dead, while 4, 208,431 others  have recovered, leaving India with 1, 013, 964 patients to assist to the point of recovery(93, 337 cases in the last 24 hours- and Brazil which has reported 4, 495, 183 all time cases, 135, 793 patients already dead, while 3, 897, 539 others have been healed of the pandemic, leaving Brazil with 461, 851 patients to assist to the point of recovery(39, 797 cases in the last 24 hours).

    Russia, now the 4th nation most hit by virus has reported 1, 092,915  all time cases, 19, 270 patients have given up the ghost, while 903, 545 others have been discharged, leaving Russia with 170, 100  active cases of Coronavirus, followed by Peru which has reported 756,412  all time cases, 31, 283 others are no more, while  594, 513   others  have overcome the virus, leaving Peru with 130, 616 patients  in need of medication to come out of their predicament(6, 314 new cases) and Colombia, which has reported 750, 471  confirmed cases of Coronavirus,  23, 665 patients are already dead, while 615, 457 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Colombia with 111,349  patients still down with the virus(6, 526 cases in the last 24 hours).

    Mexico now stands as the 7th most affected country with 688, 954 all time cases, 72, 803 others have passed on, while 582, 109 patients are now healthy, leaving Mexico with 34, 042  active cases of the pandemic(4, 841 new cases0, followed  South Africa which has documented 659, 656  cases of Coronavirus,  15, 940 lives have been snatched away by the pandemic, while  589, 434  others have been discharged, leaving South Africa with 54, 282  Coronavirus patients hoping for the best to get back on their feet(2,029 new cases), and Spain with 640, 040  confirmed cases of the virus, 30, 495 souls already dead,  while about 150, 376 others have been discharged, leaving Spain with  about 459, 169  active cases of the pandemic.

    Argentina, the 10th country worst hit has recorded 613, 658 all time cases, 12, 705 patients have passed on while 478, 077 others have recovered, leaving Argentina with 122, 876  active cases of the virus(11, 945 cases in the last 24 hours), followed by France with 467, 552 cases of Coronavirus, 31, 257 patients are already dead, while 92, 836 others have been discharged, leaving  France with 343, 459 patients to assist to overcome the pandemic(143 new cases) and Chile, which has confirmed 444, 674 all time cases, 12, 254 lives already lost to the virus while 418, 101 others been healed, leaving Chile with 14, 319  active cases of the virus.

    Coming up as the 14th most affected country is Iran with  419, 043 cases of the virus recorded over time, 24, 118 patients have died, while  357, 632  others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Iran with 37, 293 active cases of Coronavirus(2, 845 new cases), followed by the United Kingdom with 392, 842 all time cases,  41, 848 patients have been killed, while only  2, 220 patients have been assisted to recovery, leaving the UK with   348, 774  active cases of the virus(4, 430 cases in the last 24 hours) and Italy now the 20th  country worst hit by virus, reporting 296, 569 confirmed cases,  35,692 patients are no more, while 217, 716  others have been discharged, leaving Italy with 43, 161 patients down with the pandemic hoping for the best to be back on their feet(1, 637 new cases) .

    China where Coronavirus was first reported now stands as the 40th nations worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 90, 324  all time cases, 4, 737 patients could not make it alive, while only 85, 221 others have been able to overcome the virus, leaving China with 366 active cases of the pandemic.
