    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 460 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number in the country to 30,249.

    But out of the 30, 249 cases, 12, 373 Nigerians have been discharged, while 684 others were killed by the pandemic, leaving Nigeria with 17, 192 active cases.

    A breakdown of the 460 new cases is as follows Lagos-150,  Rivers-49, Oyo-43, Delta-38, FCT-26, Anambra-20, Kano-20,  Plateau-18, Edo-14,  Bayelsa-13, Enugu-13,  Osun-12, Kwara-10,  Borno-8,  Ogun-7,  Kaduna-6,  Imo-4,  Bauchi-3, Gombe-3, Niger-2 and Adamawa-1, making the 460 new cases.

     “NCDC @NCDCgov 460 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-150 Rivers-49 Oyo-43 Delta-38 FCT-26 Anambra-20 Kano-20 Plateau-18 Edo-14 Bayelsa-13 Enugu-13 Osun-12 Kwara-10 Borno-8 Ogun-7 Kaduna-6 Imo-4 Bauchi-3 Gombe-3 Niger-2 Adamawa-1 ; 30,249 confirmed 12,373 discharged 684 deaths”, the NCDC said in a statement.

    Worldwide there are  11,994, 182 cases of the pandemic, while 547,931 others have been killed by the pandemic, while 6, 533,436 others have recovered. There are currently 4, 912, 815 active cases worldwide, based on statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most affected country worldwide, with 3, 046, 351 cases,   132, 195 deaths while 953, 420 Americans have  recovered, leaving the United States with 1, 960, 736 active cases, followed by Brazil, which has reported 1, 713, 160 confirmed cases, 67, 964 deaths, while 1,117, 029 Brazilians  have recovered, leaving Brazil with 528, 167 active cases.

    India, now the third most affected country in the world has documented  742, 417 confirmed cases,  456, 831 Indians have recovered, while 20, 642 other have been killed by the pandemic, followed by Russia with 699, 749 confirmed cases, 10, 650 deaths, while 471, 718 Russians have recovered leaving Russia with 217, 381 active cases, followed by Peru with 312, 911 cases,  11, 133  deaths while 204, 748 Peruvians have recovered, leaving Peru with 97,030 active cases.

    Chile is next with 303,083 cases, 6, 573 deaths, while 271, 741 Chileans have recovered, leaving Chile with 24, 769 active cases, followed by the United Kingdom, which has reported 288, 510 confirmed cases,  44,602 deaths, while  1, 375 others have recovered, leaving the U.K. with 242, 533 active cases, followed by Mexico with 368,008 cases,  32,014 deaths, while 209,437 Mexicans have recovered, leaving Mexico with 126,  557 active cases of Coronavirus.

    Spain is next with 252, 513 cases,  28, 396 deaths, while 150, 376 Spaniards have recovered, leaving Spain with 73, 741 active cases, followed by  Iran with 248, 379 cases, 12,084 deaths, while 209, 463 Iranians have recovered, leaving Iran with 26, 832 active cases, followed by Italy with 242, 149 cases, 34, 914 deaths, while  193, 640 Italians have recovered, leaving Italy with 13, 595 active cases and then France with 206, 072 cases,  29,996 deaths, while 77, 780  residents have recovered, leaving France with 98, 292 active cases and then China, which has  84, 941 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 4,641 deaths while 79,761 Chinese have recovered, leaving China with 539 active cases of the pandemic.
