    Coronavirus:  1651 killed in Turkey as Nigeria reports 597 cases 17 deaths

    Nigeria reports 597 cases 17 deaths in one day

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 597 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to  196, 487 in the country.

    But out of the 196, 487 confirmed cases,  185,  159 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 573 others  could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 8755 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic, while  17 patients died in the last 24 hours.

    NCDC: 597 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria: Lagos – 204, Rivers – 89, Edo – 65, FCT – 50,  Oyo – 47,  Ekiti – 24, Cross River – 17,  Delta – 15,  Gombe – 15,  Osun – 12, Plateau – 6,  Benue – 5,  Kano – 2: 196, 487 confirmed;  185, 159 discharged; 2, 573 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    Globally, there are now 221, 936, 765 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic ,  4, 586, 188 patients have passed on while  5,532,236,346 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the Centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 40,280, 094 all time cases, while 650, 532 patients have passed on(268, 635 new and 1566 deaths*) followed by India with 33, 096, 718 all time infections, while 441, 411 patients have died(69,097 new and 659 deaths*) and Brazil now  reporting 20, 914,  237 confirmation and 584, 108 deaths(14, 304 new and  298 deaths*).

    The United Kingdom is which has upgraded to the 4th spot now reports 7, 089, 051 all time cases, while 133, 808 patients have perished(37, 706 new and  210 deaths*), followed by Russia with 6, 946, 922 all time cases, while 185, 447 patients are no more(17, 060 new and 775 deaths*) and France with  6, 938, 866 confirmed cases and 115, 680 deaths(14, 541 new and 150 deaths*).

    Turkey remains the 7th country most hit, now reporting 6, 542, 624 all time cases and 58, 651deaths(277 new and 1651 deaths*), followed by Argentina which has reported 5, 211, 801 all time infections, while 112, 851 patients are no more(7999 new and 340 deaths*) and Colombia, which has registered 4, 921, 410 all time cases and 125, 378 deaths(2761 new and 100 deaths*).

    Spain remains the 10th country worst hit, reporting 4, 892,640 confirmations and 85, 066 deaths(15, 528 new and  138 deaths*) and South Africa, the most afflicted country in Africa. South Africa has reported 2, 829, 834 all time infections and 83, 899 deaths (5771 new and 287 deaths*).
