BANJUL, Gambia – Sit tight President of Gambia who was defeated by Adama Barrow in the December 1, 2016 election has agreed to step down to allow President Adama Barrow to take over.
Barrow made the announcement few minutes ago on his tweeter account.
“I would like to inform you that Yahya Jammeh has agreed to step down. He is scheduled to depart Gambia today. #NewGambia”, he said.
Jammeh had been in a closed door meeting with members of Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS following the expiration of 12noon deadline for him to step down.
