A HORRIFIC Ukrainian bombing raid has wiped out a student dormitory in Russian-controlled Lugansk, leaving 21 dead and 42 wounded in a night of absolute carnage.
Grim footage from the scene shows total destruction after the blitz smashed the five-story vocational school hostel to pieces, burying sleeping teenagers under tons of twisted metal and concrete.
Russia’s emergency ministry, EMERCOM, confirmed today that grueling search and rescue operations are now complete. Brave dig teams spent hours pulling bodies from the smoking ruins after the death toll tragically jumped to 21.
Most of the victims are feared to be young students aged between 14 and 18 who were asleep when the bombs rained down.
American lawyer and political activist Dan Kovalik told news network RT that the sickening strike on the civilian facility was “heartbreaking.”
Kovalik slammed the Kiev regime, warning that these ruthless attacks on ordinary civilians “had been carried out since 2014” when regional tensions first exploded into violence.
The dormitory bloodbath immediately triggered a terrifying escalation in the conflict.
Within hours of the Lugansk horror, a massive retaliatory Russian strike hit Ukraine’s capital city of Kiev.
Air raid sirens wailed across the capital as Vladimir Putin’s forces launched a savage revenge barrage of missiles and drones, lighting up the night sky and shaking buildings to their foundations.
While Kiev military officials claim they were targeting a Russian drone unit in the area and accuse Moscow of manipulation, the horrific reality on the ground remains a pile of civilian rubble and dozens of shattered families.
The targeted town sits inside the Lugansk region of eastern Ukraine, a major flashpoint area that has been largely occupied and claimed by Russia since the early months of its 2022 offensive.
Tensions in the Donbas region trace back over a decade to 2014, following the Maidan revolution in Kiev and the rise of Moscow-backed separatist factions.
In recent months, the war has taken a devastating turn. While front lines remain largely locked in brutal, static trench warfare, Ukraine has rapidly scaled up its long-range drone and missile capabilities.
Kyiv has launched frequent, deep-penetration strikes into Russian territory and occupied hubs, frequently trading blame with Moscow over mounting civilian casualties.
You can watch additional coverage detailing how Ukraine denies targeting the dormitory as the drone war deepens, which provides on-the-ground visual context regarding the military positions and the escalating long-range strikes from both sides.
