ONTISHA, Anambra, Nigeria – All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA and  All Progressives Congress APC in Anambra state on Wednesday  traded tackles  over the Jigawa High Court judgment obtained by the faction of APGA led by Chief Jude Okeke.

Jigawa High Court had given judgment on the candidacy of APGA for the November 6, Anambra state governorship election which was recently quashed by the Appeal court of Kano Division.

The Kano High Court had given judgment recognising Hon Chukwuma Umeoji as the gubernatorial candidate of APGA instead of Prof Charles Soludo. Speaking during  a courtesy visit of the newly elected executive of the Correspondent Chapel Anambra state Nigerian Union of Journalists NUJ led by Chief Chuks Ilozue, the state Commissioner for Information Chief C.Don Adinuba   accused  APC and its Director General of Andy Uba Campaign Organization and Governor  Hope Uzodimma to have sponsored  the High Court judgment.

Adinuba said that APGA cannot be intimidated by the personalities who are members of the APC Campaign Organization for its candidate Sen Andy Uba , noting  that what happened in Imo state cannot happen in Anambra state.

“We are not intimidated by that long list of APC governors and members of the National Assembly of APC extraction that are coming to support Sen Andy Uba.

The APC candidate and his supporters are no match for Prof Charles Soludo in experience, exposure, pedigree and connection.

What experience do they have in politics and governance? What are their achievements in their respective states? . In Imo state salaries and entitlements are being owed for months now and basic infrastructure in those APC states are recluse of themselves.

Anambra is not Imo state where somebody that was in fourth position became the winner of the governorship election and look at the security situation in Imo state where the DPO in Hope Uzodimma home town was killed and his house burnt.

That is what the APC wants to happen in Anambra state and I can assure you that it cannot happen in Anambra state and our people are politically aware and informed ” he said

Reacting , the former Majority leader of Anambra state House of Assembly and Director Andy Uba Campaign Organization in the state, Hon Humphrey Nsofor described Adinuba’s claims as mere grand standing contending that he is only playing to the gallery. “The statements of C Don Adinuba is mere grand standing of a party that enjoys a low ranger status.

Where do we place APGA in the committee of political parties in Nigeria and what are those achievements that the party has recorded to win the November governorship election in Anambra state?

The same security situation in Imo is also in Anambra state because Policemen were killed in Anambra state, Police stations were also attacked in Anambra state including soldiers and the Insecurity rate in Anambra is worse in Anambra where Fulani Herdsmen attack, kill and rape village women in Ayamelum, Anambra East and West and Oyi local government areas which is the home town of the governor.

So ,Adinuba should know that he  leaves in a glass house , he should not throw stones and in the coming election Anambra people have become wiser to know that there is the need to connect to the center and get our own share of federal government social security instead of being the lone ranger” he said
