    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 221 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing all time cases in the country to 53, 021.

    But out of the 53,021 confirmed cases, 40,281 patients have been discharged, while 1,010 others are not alive to tell their stories.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Plateau-60,  Abuja-33,  Kaduna-26,  Rivers-18, Lagos-17,  Enugu-9,  Kwara-9, Ondo-9,  Nasarawa-6, Gombe-5,  Anambra-5, Delta-4,  Abia-4,  Imo-3, Edo-2, Ogun-2,  Oyo-2,  Osun-2,  Bauchi-1 and  Kano-1, making the 221 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

    “NCDC@NCDCgov221 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Plateau-60,  FCT-33,  Kaduna-26,  Rivers-18, Lagos-17,  Enugu-9,  Kwara-9, Ondo-9,  Nasarawa-6, Gombe-5,  Anambra-5, Delta-4,  Abia-4,  Imo-3, Edo-2, Ogun-2,  Oyo-2,  Osun-2,  Bauchi-1,  Kano-1;  53,021 confirmed 40,281 discharged 1,010 deaths”, the NCDC said in a statement.

    Globally, there are currently 24, 028, 537 confirmed cases, 822, 403  deaths, while 15, 669,099 others have survived the Coronavirus pandemic, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland has reported.

    According to the centre,  the United States remains the most affected with 5, 817, 538 all time cases, 179, 596 deaths, while 2, 084, 465  others have recovered, leaving the U.S with 3, 553, 477 patients to treat for  the Coronavirus pandemic(50, 734 new cases), followed by Brazil, which has documented 3, 669, 995 confirmations, 116, 580 deaths over time, while 3, 032, 551 others have overcome the pandemic, leaving Brazil with 520, 864 Coronavirus patients(47, 134 new cases), followed by India with 3, 234, 474  all time cases, 59, 449 deaths over time, while  2, 467, 758 others have  been declared hale and hearty, leaving India with 707, 267 patients struggling to survive the pandemic(67, 151 new cases).

    Russia is next with 968,297 confirmed cases, 16, 638 deaths, while  784, 277     others have survived, leaving Russia with 167, 382 patients in need of attention(4, 642 new cases), followed by South Africa that has reported 615, 701 all time cases, 13, 502 deaths,  while 425, 242 others  have been able to overcome the pandemic, leaving South Africa with 176, 957 Coronavirus patients(2, 684 new cases), followed by Peru which has reported 607, 382 all time cases, 28,001  deaths, while 414, 577 others have been discharged, leaving Peru with 164, 804 patients to treat for Coronavirus(6, 944 new cases).

    Mexico has documented 568, 621 confirmed cases since the first case was reported, 61, 450 deaths, while 469, 206 patients have been cured, leaving Mexico with 37, 965 patients in need of medical attention(4, 916 new cases). Colombia has reported 562, 113 cases since the first case was reported, 17, 889 deaths over time, while   395, 463 others have overcome the pandemic, leaving Colombia with 148, 761 Coronavirus patients (10, 425 new cases), followed by Spain with 418,849 all time cases, 28, 971 deaths, while 150, 376 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Spain with 239, 502  Coronavirus patients(6, 296 new cases).

    Chile has documented 402, 365 confirmed cases, 10, 990 deaths, while 376, 268 others have been discharged, leaving Chile with 15, 107  patients in need of medical attention(1,380 new cases), followed by Argentina which has reported 370, 188 cases since the first issue was reported, 7, 839 all time  deaths,  268,801 recoveries, leaving  Argentina with 93, 548 patients still  hoping to stay alive(19, 321 new cases) and Iran which has reported 365, 606  all time cases,   21,020 all time deaths, while 314, 870 others have recovered, leaving Iran with 29, 716 patients in need of medical help(2, 243 new cases).

    The United Kingdom(13), which has suffered the highest casualty in Europe has documented 330, 934 all time cases, 41, 551 deaths, while  only 1, 551 others  have been lucky to survive, leaving the U.K with 287, 832  Coronavirus patients(1, 113 new cases) and then France in 17th spot in the rank of most affected countries. France has reported  291, 374 all time cases, 30, 549 deaths since the first case was reported and  85, 811 recoveries, leaving France with 175, 014 patients in need of medical attention(5, 495 new cases), followed by Italy(18) which has documented 262,540 all time cases, 35, 458 deaths, while 206, 329 patients have been able to recover, leaving Italy with 20, 753 Coronavirus patients(1, 366 new cases) and then China where Coronavirus was first reported.

    Now pushed to the 33rd position in the rank of most affected countries, China has reported 89, 777 all time cases, 4, 712 deaths over time, while 84, 168 others have been discharged, leaving China with 897 people still down with the Coronavirus pandemic.
