NGWA, Abia, Nigeria – As the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) campaign train stormed Ukwa East for its grassroots mobilisation, the party State Chairman, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere has described the governorship candidate, Prof Gregory Ibe as the best man to govern Abia state .
Addressing party faithfuls in Ukwa East, he said Prof Gregory Ibe is the only gubernatorial candidate in Abia who has impacted positively in the lives of people, especially in the areas of job creation and education.
According to him, if Ibe is elected the governor of the state, there would be a new Abia where everybody will be proud. He also stated that the election of March 11 would bring about a new Abia and urged the people of Ukwa Ngwa to massively vote for new Abia which APGA and Prof Ibe represent.
During the visit, the campaign team visited five wards of Ukwa Ngwa ,which are Igubeachara, Akanu Ndoki, Azumini, Ikwuorieator West and Ikwueke East.
Speaking at the wards to wards campaign tour, the APGA candidate for Ukwa East State Constituency, Chinenyenwa Saviour Adiele said APGA will right all the wrong in the local government council over the years.
According to him, Ndoki people had always dominated politics in the area against Akirika people and assured that APGA has come to stay in Igubeachara. Chinenyenwa said that despite pressure mounted on the community to support the YPP candidate, Hon. Ogbo Ubani there was massive turn up for APGA.
He regretted that some miscreants have been destroying his posters because of the pressure on them by some of the candidate, saying that he will fight to the end, and win at the end of the day.
At Ikwuorieator ward, Chinenyenwa Saviour Adiele commended the residents for the massive turn up , describing the place as his second home, because his father lived and worked there for so many years.
According to him, the warm reception by the people of Ikwuorieator ward gladdened his heart.
“In the history of Ukwa politics, Akirika people have always been marginalized by Ndoki people. I am from Igubeachara and I have come to challenge Ndoki people and to prove to them that an Akirika man can represent the constituency at the State House. I am very sure that I will win in Ikwuorieator ward with massive votes,” he stated
He stated that the prophesy from the mouth of a pastor some years ago would surely come to pass someday soon. Rev. Ogbonna Steven, had some years prophesized that he would be the messiah of his people . He promised to represent them with fear of God, if elected.
APGA candidate for Ukwa East/ West at the Federal House of Representatives, Engr. Adinigwe Ugochukwu alias Onu-ugu disclosed that Hon. Abonta, who represents Ukwa East/ West at the Federal House of Representatives, has been educating him on the best way to represent the people, believing strongly that he will win the election in February.
“I have been working with Hon. Abonta, and he has told me the problems that should be solved in Ukwa East. He accepted to work with me, because my brother from Asa had handed power over to him. For sixteen years, Ndoki has been the part of Ukwa that produces our Representatives for the Federal House. It is now the turn of Asa to produce a person that will represent Ukwa East/ West at the Federal House of Representatives. I am from Owaza, Asa and I am the one Asa people have projected for the position” he said .
Engr. Adinigwe a strong believer in equity, fairness and justice said Ndoki people should support an Asa man to win and represent their people. He further stated that Ukwa is one and not two , noting that his birth certificate bears Ukwa, and not Ukwa East or Ukwa West.
He said, “Ukwa is one. The politics that encourages marginalization is not a healthy one. Ndoki people and Asa people should love themselves, because we are one. And because we are one, Ndoki should create room for Asa to produce the next Representative. Remember, Senator Abaribe’s mother was born here, so he is our own, and we must vote for him. And because it is a straight way, we should support Prof. Greg Ibe, and our support should go down to Chinenyenwa Saviour, “he said
The Abia state former commissioner, Uwaoma Olewengwa gave reason the people of Ukwa East should support Prof. Greg Ibe to govern Abia.
According to him, Ibe has touched the lives of Abians and Ukwa Ngwa people inclusive. She said that Prof Greg Ibe has been kind to Abians, especially the poor and voting him into power will mean Abia liberation and new Abia.
According to her, Prof. Greg Ibe is the only governorship candidate in Abia who has remained a source of encouragement and happiness to the people in the area of education and job creation. Olewengwa urged the people to be steadfast in prayers and be committed to the course of APGA and Ibe to wining the state.
She urged them make use of their PVCs to vote Prof Ibe and all APGA candidates , when the time comes.
“Ukwa East has been supporting APGA for some years now. I am aware of this, because I had been in the collation centres in the past. APGA has always won elections in Ukwa East, but the poor turn out of people here shows that there is a lot of work to be done in Ukwa East.
“As I have always said, February 25 election is very important to us, because the results of the election will determine whether Prof. Greg Ibe will win in the governorship election in March. Your son, Senator Abaribe should be voted for, likewise Engr Adinigwe. Once Senator Abaribe and Adinigwe emerge winners, then Prof. Greg Ibe and Chinenyenwa should go and sleep, because they will surely win. Together, we will change the narrative of Abia.”she said.
In attendance were: the State Chairman of APGA, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere, Hon. Uwaoma Olewengwa, APGA candidate for Ukwa East/ West Federal Constituency, Engr. Adinigwe Ugochukwu, APGA candidate for Ukwa East State Constituency, Chinenyenwa Saviour Adiele, APGA Ukwa East LGA Chairman, Chief Hon.
