GAZA- The Palestinian Resistant Movement, Hamas has warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that his insistence on using military pressure to free Israeli captives in its custody in the Gaza Strip instead of through peacefull negotiations will backfire with the sad consequences of returning the estimated 110 captives to Israel in coffins.

In a statement, the military spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, one of the units of Hamas, Abu Obeida said Netanyahu and the occupation army alone bear full responsibility for the deaths of prisoners after they deliberately disrupted any prisoner exchange deal for narrow interests, in addition to their deliberate killing of dozens of them through direct air strikes.

He explained further : “We tell everyone clearly that after the Nuseirat incident(Massacring over 200 civilians in rescuing 4 hostages in Gaza), new instructions were issued to the mujahideen tasked with guarding the prisoners regarding how to deal with them if the occupation army approaches their place of detention”, he said.

Specifically, he warned: “Netanyahu’s insistence on freeing the prisoners through military pressure instead of concluding a deal will mean their return to their families in coffins, and their families will have to choose between having them dead or alive”, he said.

At the negotiation table in Qatar, Hamas insisted on ceasefire, total withdrawal of Israeli Occupation Forces from Gaza including the Philadelphia Crossing, and exchange of prisoners at a ratio of 250 Hamas’ prisoners to one Israeli but Netanyahu, we gathered brought new conditions including his insistence on keeping the IDF at the Philadelphia Crossing among others and in the process aborted the negotiation process.
