ABUJA, Nigeria – The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun has redeployed senior police officers across the federation 48 hours to the Governorship elections in Kogi, Bayelsa and Imo State.
The IGP, represented by DIG, Frank Mbah at a peace meeting in Owerri, had pledged to be non- partisan during the election, warning politicians that he will not tolerate violence and warned his men to avoid being used.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi issued a statement on the redevelopment.
He said the Inspector General of Police charged the newly posted/redeployed officers to work in tandem with the Force policy and support the agenda of government for economic recovery and growth as well as socio-political development of the country.
Adejobi emphasized the importance of entrenching professionalism and diligent policing services to all officers and men under their command, while calling on them to partner with all relevant stakeholders to bring policing closer to the people.
The posting, he said, is with immediate effect:
