ANAMBRA, Nigeria – The Anambra Central senatorial candidate for Labour Party (LP), Distinguished Senator Victor Umeh, has joined other prominent Nigerians to express sadness over the demise of Prof. George Obiozor, the elder statesman and President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization.

Obiozor, a renowned diplomat and foremost academic in the area of international relations, was reported to have died after a brief illness at his residence in Imo State at the age of 80.

Noting that the late professor served the country meritoriously, Umeh, the Ohamadike Ndigbo, described his death as a great loss to the Igbo race and Nigeria in general.
