LAGOS, Nigeria – Flush from Gov Bala Mohammed’s selection as the Consensus Presidential Candidate of the North and his successful screening at the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] presidential screening exercise led by David Mark, the Gov Bala Mohammed presidential campaign organization is very confident that the coast is clear for Gov Bala Mohammed to win the primary election decisively through a robust and passionate engagement with the delegates.
The spokesman of the Bala Mohammed presidential campaign organization, Prof. Udenta O. Udenta, made this known to the media in Abuja while responding to questions pertaining to the recently concluded screening exercise, on the issue of rotation and zoning of the presidential ticket, and the all important matter of delegates canvassing efforts.
Udenta reiterated that the “northern elders have reached their consensus and their message was clear. The Bala Mohammed campaign is done with that issue. It is over. We are now reaching out to each and every delegate of the PDP with the Nigeria First agenda message”.
Continuing, Prof Udenta stated that the “campaign team has already embarked on canvassing tours around the country, so that delegates and party leaders and stalwarts will see Gov Bala Mohammed and hear him unfold his Governance plans as a true party man”.
Sounding confident, Udenta added, “The Gov Bala Mohammed team is revved up and ready. We will be showcasing his resounding leadership attributes as well as popularizing his Nigeria First Governance Vision that is captured in a compact policy document.”
The Nigeria First proffers tested solutions to the current situation. The interesting part is that it is available for the public to read, examine and comment”.
On the issue of Gov Bala Mohammed’s stated willingness to step down for former President Jonathan Prof Udenta clarified that, “sure Gov Bala Mohammed will step down for former President Jonathan if and when he becomes the flag bearer of any political party maintaining that a world of difference exists between mere aspiration and landing the coveted presidential ticket of a political party”.
