LAGOS, Nigeria – Former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has joined Nigerians in celebrating Mr. Taiwo Akinkunmi, the designer of Nigeria’s national flag.
Taiwo Akinkunmi is now 85 and the former Vice President beliefs that the best gift Nigerians can offer to this national artist is unity, peace and mutual respect for one another.
Unfortunately Nigeria seems to be heading the opposite direction with the military waging war in the South-East, in the North and almost every part of Nigeria. The signs are ominous even as many Nigerians have called for national dialogue on security, state police, and the need to restructure Nigeria in order to avoid the looming danger.
“My family and I join the family of the designer of our national flag, Chief Michael Taiwo Akinkunmi, OFR, to rejoice and celebrate with him on the occasion of his 85th birthday.
“The best gift we can give to him is to live in unity, peace and mutual respect for one another”, Atiku Abubakar said.
