EDO, Nigeria – Pastor Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressive Congress (APC) today emerged winner of the governorship primaries conducted by the party in Edo State.
Pastor Ize-Iyamu scored 27, 838 votes to defeat the two other candidates, namely, Dr. Pius Odubu, who scored 3, 776 votes and Mr. Osaro Obazee who got 2, 751 votes.
The result of the primaries which was very orderly with voters maintaining social distancing was announced by the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma.

The APC candidate will now await the result of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) primaries coming up on Thursday.
It is expected to be merely an endorsement of Governor Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy, Phillip Shuaibu as candidates of the party.
