ONITSHA, Nigeria – Anambra State Governorship aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in next year election Valentine Ozigbo, has stated that he would transform the state If given the opportunity.
According to him, his 30 years experience in transnactional businesses including banking,energy entertainment and his longtime relationship with relevant political stakeholders really equipped him to lift the state to greater height.
Ozigbo, who is the immediate past President of the Transnational Corporation PLC (Transcorp), disclosed this on Thursday during a virtual session with selected journalists in Anambra state.
According to him, with my bold decision to step down as CEO, for the tough contest to complement the eforts of the past and present administration in the state as a standard bearer of PDP, he is fully ready to slug it out with who ever emerges the governorship candidate of the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other political parties in the state.
Valentine Ozigbo stated that with the unified state executive, under the leadership of Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, the party was on the right path of producing the next governor of Anambra State after 14 years of being in opposition.

While acknowledging PDP recent donation of 120 million naira to cushion the effect of COVID-19 pandemic and other humanitarian services to Ndi Anambra as opposition, Chief Ozigbo, expressed optimism that with the kind of gesture, PDP was at the verge of harvesting a greater number of decampees from other political parties including APGA and APC.
He also said that, he remains most competent and optimistic to challenge the likes of Professor Charles Soludo, Senator Chris Ngige, Senator Andy Uba, Chief George Mogahalu, Hon. Tony Nwoye and Senator Ifeanyi Ubah at the election.
One of his aide, Mr. C. Ohafia who also spoke during the zoom meeting, enjoined PDP leaders and members in Anambra state to remain firm and loyal to the party, noting that the chances of the PDP’s Aspirant, Chief Valentine Ozigbo, emerging victorious during the governorship election, if given the ticket, were very bright.
