ABUJA, Nigeria – National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress(APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has been restrained from functioning as Chairman of the party.
Justice Danlami Senchi of the Federal High High Court, Abuja who gave the order told Oshiomhole to step down pending determination of the suit seeking his perpetual suspension from the party.
According to the judge, political parties must be bound by their constitution, stressing that having been suspended at his ward level, Comrade Oshiomhole is restrained from functioning as the National Chairman of the party pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit and adjourned till April 7 and 8, 2020 for hearing of the suit.

Starconnectmedia recalls that while addressing a crowded press conference in December, 2019, Edo State, Chairman of the party, Mr. Anselm Ojezua said suspension of the national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is based on President Muhammadu Buhari’s admonition that any member who is not relevant in his ward, local government area and state cannot hold office at the national level.
Ojezua traced the genesis of the crisis rocking the party to the conduct of primaries ahead of the last general elections, where Oshiomhole unilaterally and arbitrarily cancelled the primaries conducted by the leadership of the party in the state.
