ABUJA, Nigeria – The Supreme Court of Nigeria today upheld the victory of Governor Gboyega Oyetola, declaring him as the validly elected governor of Osun State.
The 7-member panel led by Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria Ibrahim Tanko declared Oyetola as winner of the September 22 and 27, 2019 general election.
The PDP and its candidate Senator Ademola Adeleke had challenged the victory of Gboyega Oyetola of the APC at the Election Petition Tribunal.
The tribunal ruled in favour of Adeleke but the verdict was upturned at the Appeal court. The PDP appealed but the Supreme Court today ruled that Gboyega Oyetola was the duly elected governor of the state.
