RIVERS, Nigeria – Rivers State Governor, Mr.Nyesome Wike has accused the GOC, Nigerian Army 6 Division, Major General Jamil Sarhim of failed assassination attempt on his life.
He said soldiers and political leaders were trailing him on Abacha road yesterday. Besides, he said the GOC sent his men to condone off his private residence February 15 on the eve of the resheduled Presidential and governorship election.
Wike said there is no need for fight since the All Progressive Congress(APC) is not fielding candidate for the governorship election in Rivers State, adding that the GOC had held meeting with his men with a directive to ensure that President Muhammadu Buhari wins the election in Rivers state at all cost.
Besides, he alleged that the GOC has penciled down 182 members of the PDP for arrest in Eleme and other local governments.
