RIVERS, Nigeria – Confusion was let loose on Monday evening at the INEC collation centre in Rivers State, when thugs supposedly loyal to the All Progressive Congress (APC) invaded the centre causing confusion and mayhem.
As at the time of invasion, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has secured a total of 473, 971 votes to defeat candidate of the APC, President Muhammadu Buhari who scored 150, 710 votes.
Samson Ngerebara, the APC agent, had challenged INEC collation officer, Enefiok Essien as the figures were announced.
“If you want to make yourself the tribunal, sit now and start to investigate all the results. I have the recording of all you said last night. You mutilated results against our President Muhammadu Buhari,” another APC agent said.
However, Essien was escorted out of the collation centre by armed security agents, as APC agents moved to stop his exit, bringing the exit to an abupt end.
