LAGOS, Nigeria – Former governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose will this afternoon arrive Lagos ahead of his trial at the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos. Fayose we gathered is currently boarding Mac Airline in Abuja and is due to arrive Lagos at 3:30 PM.
We gathered that official of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission( EFCC) are waiting at the Murital Muhammed Airport(MMA2) to receive and take him to the head office of the commission at Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Fayose will be arraigned before Justice Olateregun of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos for allegedly benefiting from N4.65 billion funds allocated by the Office of National Security Adviser(ONSA) by the former President, Dr. Goodluck Elebe Jonathan.
He is alleged to have collected N1.219 billion and $5million respectively from the funds. The EFCC has listed 22 witnesses including a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, who allegedly ferried the N1.219 billion and $5m in cash in two chartered jets to him.
Other key witnesses are a former Director of Finance in the office of National Security Adviser, Salisu Shuaibu and Ayotunde Owope, who was Fayose’ s account officer.
