LAGOS, Nigeria – Governorship candidates endorsed by the Mandate Group and the Governors Advisory Council, Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu today absolved himself of all allegations levelled against him by Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.
In summary, Sanwo-olu described Ambode as a liar that resulted to sow fear in the heart of Lagosians instead of addressing real issues bothering Lagosians ahead of the primaries of the All Progressive Congress(APC) coming up tomorrow, Monday.
“I never received any treatment whatsoever at the Gbagada General Hospital …That I was arrested for spending fake dollars in the United States at a night club is untrue”, the Sanwo-olu said, adding that instead of making a convincing defence Ambode went so low to sow fear into the hearts of Lagosians.
“I am here not to tear opponent but to help build Lagos up”, he said, adding “with me as governor you will hear about progress in education, health, sanitation, proper tax levels, economic development, infrastructure, jobs, public service and other things that enhance the lives of the people”, he said.
Sanwo-olu described himself as a serious person, stressing that primaries is a serious matter.
“I have not the time or inclination to attack characters when there are so many real issues to address. Lagosians want answer to sanitation crisis, loss of jobs caused by Ambode’s Visionscape misadventure. Our people want to know why Akinwunmi Ambode has not been able to build a single general hospital in the state when his predecessor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola SAN built 11 general hospitals. Lagosians are waiting to hear what our solutions are. Lagosians want to know why hundreds of competent civil servants were dismissed and how this has undermined public service”, he said, stressing that “as you next governor, my approach will not be sling insults but to propose solutions to problems of the day”, Sanwo-olu said.
