Benin City – The Edo State House of Assembly on Wednesday approved pension benefit for residential building worth N200 million for ex-governor of the state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
The House also approved a mansion worth N100 million for Oshiomhole’s deputy, Dr Pius Odubu.
The approvals were contained in a bill titled: “A bill for a law to amend the 2007 Pension Rights of the Governor and Deputy Governor Law,” which was approved by the House.
The approval means the affected parties will mow enjoy residential buildings worth N200m and N100m, respectively, in any choice location in Nigeria.
Other benefits of the governor comprised pension for life at a rate equivalent to 100 percent of his last annual salary, in addition to an officer not above salary grade level 12 to serve as his special assistant, a personal secretary not below grade level 10, who shall be selected by the former governor from the public service of Edo State.
The former governor was also entitled to two cooks, two armed policemen, three vehicles to be bought by the state government and liable to be replaced every five years, three drivers who shall be paid by the state government and free medical treatment for the governor and his immediate family.
