November 10, 2014 – Former governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the weekend held a secret meeting with all the candidates vying for the governorship ticket under the All Progressive Congress(APC) in Lagos.
The candidates at the meeting include former Accountant General of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, Commissioner for Works, Mr. Obafemi Hamzat, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, Dr. Leke Pitan and former Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Supo Shashore.
We gathered that the former governor told the aspirants to work hard to win support for themselves and that the person who will fly the party’s ticket will be chosen during the primaries coming up later on in the year and that he has not endorsed anybody.
A source at the meeting told us that Tinubu confided in the aspirants that what they are reading in the media that he has a candidate is not true and that such stories are targeted at damaging his name.
