LAGOS, Nigeria – Veteran Nollywood actor, Zulu Adigwe is dead. Former President Association of Movie(AMP) Producers, Zik Zulu Okafor made the announcement on his social media page.

In his tribute, the former AMP president said the veteran actor  featured in his production, Blood of the Orphan, which he wrote and produced in collaboration with Kenneth Nnebue,  the founder of Nollywood.

He said he invited him based on the role he played (Joe Hill) in The Man Who Never Died at the University of Ibadan, directed by Professor Joel Adedeji, who was Head of Department of Theatre Arts.

“I was so emotionally moved by his awe inspiring  performance, and that of Sola Fosudo, who  played Tom Sharp and Nobert Young as Ed Rowan”.

From then only, he said Zulu Adigwe became a permanent feature in his creative bank.

He said he featured in three of his films to play a character closer to his real being but that Nollywood had a different plan for him, as they type cast him and turned him into a village villain, always wicked, and diabolic and consequently excelled and became a brand in that area.

“For Zulu Adigwe, life happens, yes, but he treated grave issues with a measured note of levity. So death, the ever undefeated conqueror may have played its opaque role, yet Zulu conquered life. He was happy in his corner. He didn’t  need much and therefore could not ask for more”,  Zik Zulu Okafor wrote.
