BAUCHI, Nigeria – NPFL giants Rivers United dug deep to secure a crucial 1-0 victory over a stubborn Wikki Tourists side yesterday, but once again, it was their imposing home ground, the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, that proved to be the difference-maker.

The 30,000-capacity ground has long been an intimidating venue, and yesterday it delivered again for the home side, showcasing why the NPFL title race is becoming a two-horse affair between teams that can win on the road and those who can turn their home turf into a championship-winning citadel.
