TURF MOOR, Burnley, Lancashire — Turf Moor, one of football’s oldest and most hallowed grounds, was the stage for a dramatic five-goal Premier League thriller yesterday, but it proved to be a theatre of nightmares for the home fans.
A sensational performance from Fulham’s Harry Wilson, who bagged a goal and two assists, condemned Burnley to a scarcely believable seventh consecutive Premier League defeat, leaving the historic stadium utterly deflated.
