Togo, April 7, 2016 – Frenchman Claude LeRoy has been appointed as Head Coach of the Togolese national team. LeRoy(68) who had a spell in Nigeria as Assistant to then Coach of Nigeria, Clemens Westerhof also coached Cameroon, leading the Lions to the 1988 Nations Cup.

LeRoy who has also indicated interest in coaching the Super Eagles of Nigeria has previously worked as Head Coach of Senegal, Ghana, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

He is replacing Tom Saintfiet. LeRoy signed a three-year contract with Togo and his main task is to qualify Togo for the 2017 Nations Cup in Gabon.

Speaking on his latest Job, the coach said Togo needs a miracle to qualify for the 2017 Nations Cup, perhaps as the best second-placed team.
